At a joint meeting of the alliance on June 1, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge expressed confidence that the I.N.D.I.A bloc would win at least 295 seats.
State-Wise Breakdown Of I.N.D.I.A Bloc Estimates
According to an India Today report, quoting sources aware of internal Congress assessments, the party is expecting the I.N.D.I.A bloc to secure 40 of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, and seven of Rajasthan's 25. It expects I.N.D.I.A bloc to win 24 of 48 seats in Maharashtra, and 25 of Bihar's 40. It is looking at a sweep across Tamil Nadu's 39 seats and Kerala's 20 seats, and is sure of its win from Puducherry's lone seat too. It is expecting to bag all 13 seats in Punjab, and Chandigarh as well.
In West Bengal, the Congress estimates the I.N.D.I.A bloc's tally at 24 of 42 seats, and four out of seven in Delhi. In Chhattisgarh, the Opposition alliance will win five out of 11 seats, and 10 of 14 in Jharkhand, the Congress estimates suggest. The Opposition bloc could snag a tally of seven out of 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh, seven out of 10 in Haryana, and 15 to 16 out of Karnataka's 28, according to Congress estimates.
