Haryana Assembly Polls: The core commitee of Bharatiya Janata Party's Haryana unit conducted a meeting on Thursday ahead of the party's central election committee (CEC) meeting set to be held in the evening. According to sources, the state unit held discussions on all the 90 seats in view of the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls on October 1. A panel of three names has been prepared for each assembly seat, which will be presented at the CEC meeting only after which the final decision will be taken. The first candidate list is likely to be released by the party today or tomorrow (August 30).


Sources told ABP News that the BJP might drop the names of two ministers and nearly a dozen sitting MLAs. However, it is also preparing to field over 20 young candidates. There is a possibility that the saffron party might give a ticket to Raja Rao Inderjit Singh's daughter. Rao represents the Gurugram constituency and is serving as Minister of Planning and Statistics and Programme Implementation. Kuldeep Boshnoi's son Bhavya Bishnoi will also likely receive a party ticket from the BJP. Kuldeep Bishnoi is a BJP leader who has been the Haryana MLA from Adampur in Hisar four times.


Earlier today, senior BJP leaders, including Union minister Amit Shah, met at party national president JP Nadda's residence to discuss the names of probable candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls. Apart from Shah, Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, who is also the in-charge for elections in Haryana, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Manohar Lal Khattar, and BJP's Haryana unit president Mohan Lal Badoli attended the core group meeting at Nadda's residence to scrutinise the names of candidates sent from the state.






Following the BJP core group meeting, senior party leader and former Haryana home minister Anil Vij stated that the party's Haryana unit informed the central team about the prevailing political scenario in the state. "Our party is a democratic party...Now the central election commission take a final call (on the probable candidates for assembly polls, he said, as reported by news agency PTI.


A CEC meeting is scheduled to be held today that will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Nadda, and Union ministers Shah and Rajnath Singh, among others. During this meeting, the party will take the final decision on the candidates' names who will contest the Haryana polls.
