Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Friday said that Gujarat is riot-free today because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party. Addressing a public meeting in Mangrol, Thakur also said that the more Gujarat progresses, India will progress. If Gujarat wins, then India will progress, he added. “If Gujarat is riot-free today then it's because of BJP and PM Modi. The more Gujarat progresses, the more India will progress. If Gujarat wins, then India will progress,” Anurag Thakur said in Mangrol.

Anurag Thakur launched a scathing attack on senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and said that he is doing Bharat Jodo Yatra with 'tukde tukde gang'. Thakur further said that Rahul Gandhi stood with people who tried to divide India in JNU and now he is raising questions on Veer Savarkar.

“Congress does not see anything beyond one family, he added. “Rahul Gandhi doing Bharat Jodo Yatra with 'tukde tukde gang'. He spoke about Hindu terror, stood with people who tried to divide India in JNU&now he's raising questions on Veer Savarkar. It's Cong's mentality, they don't see anything beyond one family,” Anurag Thakur said.

Earlier in October, Anurag Thakur while addressing the public during the Gujarat Gaurav Yatra, said that BJP would break all previous records in the upcoming elections. Assembly elections in Gujarat will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5 and the counting of votes will take place, along with that of Himachal Pradesh, on December 8. Polling in Gujarat will be held for a total of 182 Assembly constituencies.

In the power in the state, considered a saffron stronghold, for over two decades, the BJP hopes to return to power by a handsome margin. However, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has jumped into the fray in a bid to extend its national footprint after its spectacular Assembly poll wins in Punjab.

Party convenor Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann have been headlining rallies and roadshows in the poll-bound state.
