New Delhi: Star campaigners of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Goa today to campaign for the assembly election in the state. Both the leaders will hold public rallies and door-to-door meetings in several constituencies of North and South Goa.


According to the press release issued by the BJP, Amit Shah will kick-start his campaign at 3.30 pm by making a door-to-door visit in Mayem assembly constituency and interacting with the voters. He will hold a similar campaign in the Bicholim assembly constituency around 4.25 pm. The Union Home Minister will campaigning for his party candidates, Pramendra Shet and Rajesh Patnekar.


Thereafter, Shah is scheduled to address a public meeting at Zantye Hall in Bicholim at 4.50 pm, reported news agency ANI. Another public meeting is scheduled at 6.50 pm at Bodke Ground, Sakhali Bazar where Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is also expected to be present.


Another star campaigner of the BJP, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will campaign for the party in South Goa, where he will also visit the Mahaalsa temple and Mardol Ponda at 4 pm today. The Defence Minister will hold two public meetings, one at Ponda bus station from 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm and second at the municipality near Vasco from 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm, reported ANI.


Election in Goa will be held in single phase on February 14 for the 40 assembly seats in the state. Counting of the votes will take place on March 10.
