Police officer catches a burqa-clad Muslim man for casting fake votes during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Fact

Viral video dates back to June 2023 and is from Lahore, Pakistan.

Fact Check: Social media users are widely sharing a video that shows a police officer catching a Muslim man who was wearing a burqa, with the claim that he was set to cast fake votes in the ongoing general elections. The users called the case an example of “vote jihad” in the current elections that have completed two terms. 'Vote jihad' is a term that has sparked a new row with the Uttar Pradesh Police filing a case against Congress leader Salman Khurshid and his niece Maria Alam Tuesday after she called for a “vote jihad” in favour of the I.N.D.I.A bloc candidate from the Farrukhabad Lok Sabha seat.
