Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2018 has been a hard-fought battle for both the BJP and the Congress and on Tuesday millions from the state will exercise their franchise to elect new Assemblies. For the last 15 years, the central state was ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party having Shivraj Singh Chouhan as its Chief Minister. Returning to power for the fourth time in a row will definitely accentuate more trust among the voters in favour of BJP for the general elections in 2019. Factionalism within the party may have marred Congress’ prospects in the last decade but this time around the party has exemplified a resuscitated face in what is seen as a final attempt to obliterate the BJP before the Lok Sabha elections. The elections in Madhya Pradesh is considered as a virtual semi-final by political pundits.
