Elections 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today visit poll-bound states of Chhattisgarh and Telangana where he will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones of key development projects worth over Rs 34,000 crore. In Telangana, the Prime Minister will address a public meeting Nizamabad, a Lok Sabha seat from where CM K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter and sitting BRS MLC K Kavitha is expected to contest the elections next year.


This comes two days after the PM addressed a rally at Mahabubnagar in the state, launching BJP's campaign for the upcoming assembly polls. BJP's D Arvind is the MP from Nizamabad who had defeated K Kavitha in 2019.


PM In Telangana


PM Modi will inaugurate as well as lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth about Rs 8,000 crore during his visit to Nizamabad, an official release said. He will also inaugurate the first 800 MW unit of phase 1 of the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project of NTPC.


The official statement said that the project will provide low-cost power to the state and boost its economic development. It will be one of the most environmentally compliant power stations in the country, the release added.


Apart from this, to give a boost to the rail infrastructure in the state, the PM will inaugurate rail projects including the new line connecting Manoharabad and Siddipet and the electrification project between Dharmabad-Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar-Kurnool, it said.


He will also lay the foundation stone of 20 critical care blocks under the Pradhan Mantri - Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission to amplify the Centre's health mission in the country.


PM In Chhattisgarh


The Prime Minister will also visit the Congress-ruled state Chhattisgarh today where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than Rs 26,000 crore from Jagdalpur, reported PTI. An official statement said that in a step that will provide a major impetus to the vision of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat', PM Modi will dedicate to the nation the NMDC Steel Ltd's steel plant at Nagarnar in Bastar district.


The plant has been at a cost of more than Rs 23,800 crore It is a greenfield project that will produce high-quality steel, and will provide employment opportunities to thousands of people in the plant as well as in ancillary and downstream industries, it added. The release further said the plant will put Bastar on the steel map of the world and provide a boost to the socioeconomic development of the region.


Here also, PM Modi will launch multiple rail projects in the state. He will inaugurate a new rail line between Antagarh and Taroki and a rail line doubling project between Jagdalpur and Dantewara. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of the Boridand-Surajpur rail line doubling project and redevelopment of Jagdalpur station.
