Elections 2019: Celebrating the beginning of the world's biggest festival of Democracy, search giant Google dedicated a doodle to mark the commencement of the General Elections in India. The informative doodle with an inked finger, when clicked, leads the users to a page 'how to vote #India', explaining the voting procedure in the country. The Google page contains information which can be increasingly helpful for first-time voters in the country. Interestingly, of around 90 crores of Indians across 20 states and union territories who will practice their voting rights today, around 9 crore - including 1.5 crore aged 18 or 19 - will be casting ballots for the first time.



Besides, the description of how to vote in the Indian General Election 2019 also contains detailed instructions of who can vote and how can one vote. It also contains answers to questions like "Find Polling booth (Where to vote), How to use EVM (VVPAT), When is the Election (Election dates)?"

In India, voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will take place in seven phases beginning from April 11, 2019, to elect a new lower house of parliament. This will continue until 19 May while counting day is 23 May. Elections in all the states and UTs will be held on April 11, 18, 23, 29, May 6, 12 and 19.
