Bharatiya Janata Party leader and party's Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva visited slums of the national capital on Sunday where he spent the night with the slum dwellers.
Sachdeva spent the night at Rajiv camp in Krishna Market, Jhilmil area of the national capital where he listened to the problems of the slum dwellers. He was also seen playing snakes and ladders with the children of the dwellers.
In a veiled attack on Arvind Kejriwal, Sachdeva said, "The snake in Delhi's snake and ladder will be destroyed this time. The children of Delhi will develop through ladders."
He said he has been visiting the slum dwellers for the last six months. Every time the people ask about the supply of drinking water and show their electricity bills said the BJP leader. "Now their suffering is our suffering. The responsibility for the development of their children is now ours," he added.
Further attacking Kejriwal, Sachdeva said he has been "trapped" this time. "Now he will have to answer for the last 10 years. He has not gone among the public. This is because the public now demands an account from them," he added.
A slum dweller said no special arrangements were made for Sachdeva for his stay.
"He will sleep here with us. We will feed him the same food that we eat. We have prepared pulses and rice for him. We will make him sleep on the bed. We will sleep downstairs," Mahesh Yadav told ABP News.
He also shared his plight saying he lives in a one-room slum but has to pay a disproportionate amount of electricity bill.
"I just paid a bill of Rs 840. Last month a bill of Rs 2800 came. There is only one room in my slum, which has a light and a fridge. How can this much will come," he said.
