Late Congress MP Vasant Chavan's son Ravindra Chavan won the Nanded Lok Sabha bypoll defeating his nearest rival Santukrao Hambarde of BJP by 1,457 votes. Pratap Patil Chikhalikar, who won the 2019 Lok Sabha poll for the Nanded seat as a BJP candidate, had defeated Ashok Chavan who was then with the Congress. Chikhalikar lost the 2024 Lok Sabha poll from Nanded to Vasant Chavan by more than 59,000 votes While Ashok Chavan joined the BJP in February this year, Chikhalikar is now with the Ajit Pawar-led NCP and is contesting the assembly poll from Loha in Nanded, which he has represented twice as an MLA.

However, Congress lost all assembly segments falling in the Nanded constituency. BJP's Chavan Sreeraya Ashokrai defeated Congress's Kadam Kondhekar Tirupati in Bhokar. Shiv Sena's Balaji Devidasrao Kalyankar defeated Congress candidate Abdul Sattar Gaffoor in Nanded North, while Anand Shankar Tidke won against Mohanrao Marotrao Hambarde in Nanded South.

The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance retained power by winning 230 of the 288 assembly seats. The Election Commission announced that the BJP has won 132 seats, the Shiv Sena won 57, while the NCP got 41 seats.
