The Congress on Sunday released its fourth list of 14 candidates for Maharashtra Assembly Polls. With the fourth list, the party has declared 99 candidates so far for the November 20 elections to the 288-member assembly.
Earlier on Saturday, the party released its third list of 16 candidates for the assembly elections in Maharashtra, naming senior leader Manikrao Thakare.
In the latest list, the party named Dr. Anil Nathu Shinde from Amalner, Sanjay Narayanrao Meshram from Umred, Ramdas Masram from Armori, Pravin Nanaji Padwekar from Chandrapur, Santoshsingh Chandansingh Rawat from Ballarpur and Pravin Suresh Kakade from Warora.
Meanwhile, Abdul Sattar Abdul Gafur was fielded from Nanded North, Lahu H. Shewale from Aurangabad East, Sandeep Pandey from Nalasopara, Ashok Jadhav from Andheri West, Dattatrey Bahirat from Shivajinagar and Ramesh Anandrao Bhagwe from Pune Cantonment.
The Congress' list also included Dilip Brahmadev Mane from Solapur South and Bhagirath Bhalke from Pandharpur. The party also replaced the Aurangabad East candidate Madhukar Kishnarao Deshmukh fielding Shewale. Similarly, in Andheri West, Ashok Jadhav has replaced Sachin Sawant.
Among other candidates, Congress fielded Pravin Kakade from Warora in Chandrapur district. In recent Lok Sabha polls, Warora MLA Pratibha Dhanorkar of Congress was elected as an MP from the Chandrapur constituency. Sanjay Meshram has been fielded from Umred seat where Congress MLA Raju Parve quit the party to contest Ramtek Lok Sabha elections on Shiv Sena ticket.
The fourth list comes as talks with allies NCP(SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT) for seat-sharing are still underway for the assembly polls in the state. The Samajwadi Party, earlier today, announced fielding candidates on 20 seats in Maharashtra as the seat-sharing talks with the Maha Vikas Aghadi failed to arrive at a conclusion.
