New Delhi: Reopening the possibilities of alliance between Delhi Congress and Aam Aadmi Party for upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi on Monday called a meeting of party leaders from Delhi at his residence to discuss future of the party.

The meeting which took place at 10am on Monday was expected to decide the stand of Congress in upcoming polls.

Senior party leaders including Dikshit, Ajay Maken were present during the party meet. The party is now set to address a press conference at 1pm.

As per reports, Delhi Congress Chief Sheila Diskhit, who has also been Delhi Chief Minister in the past has expressed her resentment towards joining hands with AAP, where’s party former Delhi Chief Ajay Maken wants the alliance to happen.

Diskhit has also come out in open and spoken that no alliance would be formed with AAP.

This meeting comes days after Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar showed active involvement in getting the two parties together.



In this context, AAP leader Sanjay Singh also met Pawar a few days ago at the latter's residence and held discussions over seat-sharing with the Congress and in taking steps to get all parties together and fielding a common candidate in all the seats to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party in Lok Sabha elections.
