New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed a public rally in poll-bound Chhattisgarh’s Ambikapur and passed tough remarks on alleged ‘nepotism’ inside Congress party. PM also lauded the people of Chhattisgarh for showing up for the first phase of elections, in spite Naxal influence in the state.

“Congress party cannot sleep thinking how could this chaivala (tea seller) steal away our family’s heritage and position”? PM said.

“I want to challenge them, let some good leader of Congress outside of the family become the party president for 5 years, then I will say that Nehru ji really created a truly democratic system there” he added.

He further spoke on government’s demonetization announcement of November 2016, saying “No one else is crying about demonetization today, only one family is cribbing”.

PM further credited BJP for the growth in the state saying, “Atal Ji created Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It was a peaceful division and both the states are developing rapidly today”. PM further lashed out at Congress saying “But, just look at what the mess Congress created at the time of formation of Telangana”.

Speaking on the recent 1st phase of polls in the state, he said “Shouldn't people of Bastar be appreciated for such high voting percentages? I will tell you a way to appreciate them on November 20 you register even higher voting percentage than Bastar”.
