Bharatiya Janata Party workers' bus was allegedly attacked in West Bengal's Durgapur after they were returning from the rally of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath. The incident is said to have occured in the DVC More area. Following the incident BJP MP Dilip Ghosh stated that when "demonic power starts destorying the violence increases".
Ghosh further stated that there is "nothing new" in breaking vehicles and shouting slogans of "go back". He added that everything will go back to normal and cool down after June 4, the day when the counting of votes is slated to be conducted.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath conducted three poll rallies in West Bengal on Tuesday ahead of the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections. He addressed rallies in Asansol, Birbhum, and Berhampore.
In Birbhum, BJP's Debashish Dhar had cancelled his nomination papers two days ago, following which Debtanu Bhattacharya will be representing the saffron party in the election.
BJP MP Locket Chatterjee Alleges TMC Supporters Attacked Her Car In Hooghly
Last month, BJP MP Locket Chhaterjee alleged that the Trinamool Congress supporters attacked her car in Hooghly district's Bansberia, at the behest of Bansberia Municipality Vice Chairman Shilpi Chatterjee.
She was on her way to a Kali Puja program in Hooghly's Mogra when the alleged attack happened. A video of the attack surfaced online, showing people banging the hood of her car with a BJP flag.
Locket Chatterjee is re-contesting the Hooghly Lok Sabha seat. After the attack, she slammed the TMC saying that "their audacity exposes the TMC's mafia grip over Hooghly. Today, their thugs dared to block my pilgrimage to Maa's Puja."
