The BJP legislative meeting will be held at 10:30 am. Post the meeting the MLAs will go to meet the Governor to request him to allow BJP to form government.
Yeddyurappa said that the ball is in court of the Governor and BJP will do as he decides.
All eyes will be on Vajubhai Vala, the Governor who had once vacated his assembly seat for Narendra Modi as the final decision rests with him.
It is being speculated that Yeddyurappa may become Chief Minister again, if Governor calls BJP to form government.
Yeddyurappa first became Chief Minister of Karnataka after leading the BJP to a victory in the 2008 Karnataka Assembly election in 2008. He was the first person from the Bharatiya Janata Party to become the Chief Minister of a South Indian state. Owing to alleged ill-treatment meted out to Yeddyurappa by the BJP High Command, he left Bharatiya Janata Party. Later he formed Karnataka Janata Paksha. However, in 2014 he merged it with BJP and joined the party again.
Meanwhile the Congress asserted that Karnataka Governor Vala has no option but to invite the JD(S)-Congress combine which has a "clear majority" to form the government in the state, based on constitutional and legal provisions.
The final decision lies with the governor now.
