The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has declared Bhojpuri singer-actor Pawan Singh as its candidate for the upcoming Bihar Legislative Council (MLC) elections. The announcement marks a significant political move by the party ahead of the polls, with Pawan Singh being one of the most recognisable faces in the Bhojpuri entertainment industry.

Janata Dal Announces Candidates 

The Janata Dal (United) on Friday announced the names of four candidates for the upcoming Bihar Legislative Council elections.

Elections are scheduled to be held for nine seats in the Bihar Legislative Council, while one seat will go to a bypoll.

The JD(U) has named candidates for four seats, including three for the biennial elections. For the bypoll seat, the party has fielded Lalan Prasad as its candidate.

Nishant Kumar from Patna district has been named as the JD(U) candidate for the Bihar Legislative Council elections.

The party has also nominated Bharti Mehta, who hails from Madhubani district.

Shivrani Devi Prajapati from West Champaran has also been declared as a JD(U) candidate for the Bihar Legislative Council.

With these nominations, the JD(U) is set to send two women candidates to the Bihar Legislative Council.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Mayukh has been declared as the BJP’s candidate for the Bihar MLC elections.
