Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which many consider the Congress' main opposition in the upcoming Punjab assembly election 2022, may announce Bhagwant Mann as its Chief Ministerial candidate, ABP News has learned from sources.
AAP national convener and Delhi's CM Arvind Kejriwal will make this announcement later on Tuesday.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal launched "Janta Chunegi Apna CM" drive and said that AAP will be choosing its Punjab CM after getting feedback from people. According to party sources, out of 21 lakh answers received in the last three days, the first choice is Bhagwant Mann.

Bhagwant Mann joined the AAP in 2014 and he has been an MP since then. He won back-to-back elections from the Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency. Before joining politics, Mann was a comedian who performed in television shows alongside Kapil Sharma.
Speculations were ripe that MP Bhagwant Mann could be AAP's CM face in Punjab after Kejriwal gave a statement saying how Mann is 'dear to him'.
"Bhagwant Mann is very dear to me, he is like a younger brother. I was also saying that we should make him the CM face for Punjab Assembly elections, but he said let the people of Punjab decide this," Kejriwal was quoted in an ANI report.
It is understood that Mann has good penetration in leadership including with party workers. He is very popular in entire Punjab and especially in the Malwa region for his style.
