New Delhi: BJP's Central Election Committee (CEC) will meet on Wednesday in the national capital to finalise the names of the candidates of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Goa assemblies. The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


The BJP CEC meeting is scheduled to begin at 11.30 am. The crucial meeting will break the suspense over the names of candidates along with the new equation among alliance parties for the seats.


BJP UP Candidates' List


After the marathon meeting in the last three days, BJP has agreed upon the names of the candidates for the remaining phases of the UP assembly election 2022. The names of the candidates for the third, fourth and fifth phases are likely to be announced today.


BJP's core committee finalised the names for 160 seats after a long discussion was held between top leaders including JP Nadda, Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan, Sunil Bansal, CM Yogi, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, and BJP State President Swatantra Dev Singh.


For the UP assembly election 2022, the seat-sharing formula in the alliance has also been finalised and will likely be announced today.


So far, the names of 109 candidates to contest in UP assembly polls 2022 have been announced by the saffron party.

Decision On Fate Of Goa, Uttarakhand, Punjab Candidates


The candidates' list for Goa, Uttarakhand, and Punjab prepared by the core committee will be placed in the meeting of the CEC. According to the information obtained by ABP News, BJP CEC will put its stamp on this list after the discussion on Wednesday.


BJP has decided the fate of the candidates of the remaining electoral states Goa, Uttarakhand, and Punjab.


The Election Commission had announced the schedule of the assembly elections to be held in five states on January 8. UP elections remain critical as one of the most populous states along with Punjab, Manipur, Goa, and Uttarakhand.
