Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin campaigning for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana this month, days ahead of the first phase of polling in J&K on September 18.
Modi will visit Jammu and Kashmir on September 14 where he will campaign for the party in Doda. He will then reach Kurukshetra in Haryana where he will hold a rally.
This will be the first assembly elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. The three-phase election will begin on September 18. The second phase of voting will take place on September 25 while the third phase will take place on October 1 for the 90-member Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
Elections to the 90-member Haryana Legislative Assembly will be held on October 5 and the votes for both the elections will be counted on October 8.

On Tuesday, prominent leaders including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and state Congress president Udai Bhan filed their nomination for the Haryana elections.
Two INDIA bloc allies, Aam Aadmi Party and Congress decided not to forge an alliance for the polls in Haryana after which the Arvind Kejriwal-led party released its second and third lists of 20 candidates.
In Jammu and Kashmir, Bharatiya Janata Party's J&K chief, Ravindra Raina is seeking re-election from the Nowshera assembly constituency of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir. But he faces a major challenge from his former party colleague Surinder Choudhary who is fighting the polls on a National Conference ticket and enjoys backing by the Congress.
The Congress and National Conference have come together to fight the polls in the Union Territory. Under a seat-sharing formula, NC will contest 51 seats while the Congress will field its candidates on 32 seats.
