Elections 2023: The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for conducting assembly polls in five states Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram. As per the announcement, polling will begin on November 7 and will conclude on November 30  while the results will be declared on December 3. 


The voting will take place in sigle phase in MP, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram and in two phases in Chhattisgarh.


Dates For Elections In 5 States


Madhya Pradesh: November 17


Rajasthan: November 25


Chhattisgarh: November 7 (Phase-I), November 17 (Phase-II)


Telangana: November 30


Mizoram: November 7


The counting of votes will take place on December 3 for all five states and the entire polling schedule will be completed on December 5. 


Mizoram


The Gazette notification will be issued on October 13 and candidates will be able to file the nomination till October 20. The last date for withdrawal of candidature will be October 23 and polling will be held on November 7 in a single phase. 


Chhattisgarh 


First phase: Date of issue of Gazette notification has been set for October 13 and October 20 will be the last date for filing nominations which will be scrutinised on October 21. The candidature could be withdrawn till October 23 and the state will undergo polling for the first phase on November 7. 


Second phase: Gazette notification will be issued on October 21 and candidates could file nomination by October 30 while the scrutiny of nominations will take place on October 31. Date for withdrawal of nominations is set for November 2 and voting for the second phase will take place on November 17. 


Madhya Pradesh 


The Gazette notification will be issues on October 21 and candidates would be able to file the nomination till October 30. Last date for withdrawal of candidature will be November 2 and polling will be held on November 17 in single phase. 


Rajasthan 


Date of issue for Gazette notification has been set for October 30 and November 6 will be the last date for filing nominations which will be scrutinised on November 7. The candidature could be withdrawn till November 9 and single-phase polling would take place on November 25. 


Telangana


Gazette notification will be issued on November 3 and candidates could file nominations by November 10 while the scrutiny of nominations will take place on November 13. Date for withdrawal of nominations is set for November 15 and voting will take place on November 30. 


With the announcement, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) comes into place for the entire election duration during which the parties have to refrain from making any announcement so as to attract voters, among other restrictions under the MCC.
