Former Chief Minister and ousted AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam on Saturday confirmed that alliance talks were ongoing with the BJP while the alliance talks have been concluded. He said there are plans to form a mega alliance in Tamil Nadu to support Narendra Modi's candidacy for Prime Minister once again.

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam (OPS) formed The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (OPS) as a splinter group from the AIADMK Party subsequent to his expulsion from the AIADMK.

The ousted AIADMK leader OPS said, "Alliance talks are finalised. We will announce after saying to you. Talks are going on with the BJP. A Mega alliance will be formed in Tamil Nadu to choose Narendra Modi as PM again."

It may be recalled that AIADMK-led by Edappadi Palaniswami severed ties with the National Democratic Alliance. This week, several AIADMK leaders also joined the BJP in the presence of BJP national leaders and state BJP chief Annamalai in New Delhi.

Earlier, O Panneerselvam and his supporters stated that they maintain continuous communication with the BJP and emphasized that their decision regarding an alliance would depend on actions taken by the saffron party. Following a meeting with his supporters, including R Vaithilingam, Manoj Pandian, and political advisor Panrutti S Ramachandran in Chennai in September last year, OPS addressed reporters, asserting that the NDA alliance led by the BJP has the potential to secure power at the Centre for the third consecutive term.
