New Delhi: The Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal, who are contesting the UP Assembly Elections 2022 together released their first list of 29 candidates on Thursday. Following the announcement, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said on Friday that the SP and RLD alliance had given out a clear message tha Akhilesh Yadav was not ready to leave “criminals, goons and rioters.”


"Through the first list of candidates of the Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal alliance, Akhilesh Yadav has given a clear message that he is not ready to leave criminals, goons and rioters aside,” Maurya said in a statement released by the Bharatiya Janata Party. 


The Deputy CM added that the formation of SP government would mean “riot raj, goonda raj and criminal raj” in the state. 


Out of the 29 candidates list that the SP and RLD has released, 10 candidates are from SP whereas 19 are from RLD. 


Maurya further alleged that the SP-RLD candidates list also includes the accused of Kairana (Shamli) “exodus.”

"What message do you want to give to the people of the state through your alliance? Akhilesh Yadav should tell if he wants to create Muzaffarnagar-like (riot) and Kairana-like situations in the state again,” said the Deputy CM.  


"Bharatiya Janata Party will run a campaign against the true character of the SP-RLD alliance and will also give a message to the public," Maurya said. In his statement Maurya also termed many of the candidates as history-sheeters.
