Ending scepticism over Samajwadi Party (SP) participating in Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi and Raebareli, Akhiesh Yadav stated that his party will join the yatra only after seat distribution is done, news agency ANI reported.

When questioned about joining the Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in UP, SP Chief Yadav stated: "Right now talks are going on, lists have come from them, we have also given them the list. The moment, seat distribution is done, Samajwadi Party will join their Nyaya Yatra."

Speaking with reporters, Yadav stated that he will continue to walk over the path shown by Rammanohar Lohiya and his father Mulayam Singh Yadav. "Whatever problem - whether it is economic or any other issue - the country and the state are facing, a solution for it could only be found via 'samajwadi' ideology," he stated.

Negotiations between Akhilesh Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge have taken place, but a final seat agreement has not been achieved. According to the Samajwadi Party, if all is finalized, Akhilesh Yadav will join the yatra, else, he will not.

Earlier this month, Akhilesh Yadav accepted Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's invitation and stated that he will attend the yatra in either Amethi or Raebareli. Yadav posted his response to Kharge’s invitation on his official X handle stating: “Got your invitation to join the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Best wishes for the yatra’s success in UP.” He also wrote: “Hope that the Nyay Yatra will join the ‘PDA’ strategy of the SP while entering the state and take forward its agitation for ‘social justice and harmony’”.
