Ahead of the close of the last phase of voting for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge made a big claim on the results of the I.ND.I.A. Although the exit poll results are going to come only after 6.30 PM on Saturday, Kharge has already made public his prediction for the I.N.D.I.A bloc.
Kharge has claimed that the INDIA bloc will win at least 295 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The Congress president said that the alliance had a meeting on Saturday that lasted two and a half hours. "After considering the factors in favour and against participating in the exit poll, it was unanimously decided that all the opposition parties will participate in the exit poll debates on television channels on Saturday evening. All the political parties decided to expose the BJP and its ecosystem on the pre-determined exit polls," Kharge said.
"We are trying to tell the truth of the narrative they are trying to sell. The Opposition alliance is winning 295+ seats while the BJP-led NDA will get 235 seats only," Mallikarjun Kharge said addressing a press conference in New Delhi after the meeting. He also said that the alliance members discussed the strategies to be adopted on vote counting day, ie June 4.
Earlier, Congress had refused to participate in the debates on TV channels regarding the exit poll results. Congress party had said that in Congress's view, there is no justification for participating in the TRP game by making any kind of public speculation before the results are announced. The purpose of any debate is to increase the knowledge of the viewers.
