New Delhi: Ahead of the Uttarakhand assembly election, Aam Aadmi Party leader and chief ministerial candidate Colonel Ajay Kothiyal (retired) discussed his party's preparations at the ABP Ganga general convention.
Ajay Kothiyal said the Aam Aadmi Party had worked on the ground and stressed that the BJP would not return to power in Uttarakhand.
"We are making announcements turn by turn to the public and explaining them," he said.
When asked which party would be the biggest challenge for AAP, Ajay Kothiyal said, "It is certain that BJP is not coming not power. People in Congress are challenging Harish Rawat. However, the party that is in power will be a challenge."
Colonel Ajay Kothiyal said the people of Uttarakhand had seen BJP and Congress for 10 years. "The public is seeing that education and health in the mountain have failed. All the resources for employment are here," Ajay Kothiyal said.
In August, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal named retired Army colonel Ajay Kothiyal as his party’s CM candidate for the 2022 Uttarakhand assembly polls at an event in Dehradun.
Ajay Kothiyal said the party would give one person from every family a job if AAP was voted to power.
"They will be given an allowance unless they get a job. More than 80 per cent of employment will be given to the Uttarakhand people. We will create a portal in which people will inform about their qualifications and based on that they will be employed," Kothiyal said.
