NEW DELHI: The ABP News-Nielsen exit poll has predicted a comfortable victory for the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre this Lok Sabha elections with stunning performances in West Bengal and Odisha, but there are states where the saffron coalition is still unable to open its account.

1: Andhra Pradesh

As per the survey, YSR Congress Party of YS Jaganmohan Reddy is likely to dominate the Lok Sabha election winning 20 out of 25 seats. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party is slated to get five seats. The national parties, the Congress and the BJP, may fail to even open their account.

The 2014 Lok Sabha elections were held in undivided Andhra Pradesh. Following the bifurcation, 42 Lok Sabha seats were divided among Andhra Pradesh (25) and Telangana (17). In 2014, the TDP had an alliance with the BJP and their coalition won 19 seats with Naidu's front bagging 16 and the saffron party three.

2: Telangana

The ABP News exit poll gave the Telangana Rashtra Samithi a majority of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. The survey predicted that the K Chandrasekhar Rao-led TRS would secure 15 seats. The Congress and the Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM are projected to win one seat each. The BJP may draw a blank here.

Exit polls predict another term for PM Modi

Meanwhile, most exit polls predicted another term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with some of them projecting that BJP-led NDA will get more than 300 seats to comfortably cross the majority mark of 272 in the Lok Sabha.

According to ABP News-Nielsen exit poll, Modi-led NDA is all set to return to power winning 277 seats in Lok Sabha elections, five seats above the majority mark. The Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) could win 130 seats while other regional/non-aligned parties are tipped to win 135 seats.

The exit poll shows that the BJP is expected to win 227 seats, a 30 per cent decline over 2014, while the Congress is seen bagging 87 seats (almost a 200 per cent jump). The saffron party had won an absolute majority by grabbing 282 seats on its own the 2014 general polls while the Congress routed by the Modi wave had slumped to 44 seats.

Exit polls by News 18-Ipsos, India Today-Axis and News 24-Chanakya projected 336, 339-368 and 336-364 seats respectively for the NDA, with the BJP tipped to cross the majority on its own for another term after the 2014 polls.
