ABP C-Voter Survey: Ayodhya Or Mathura, From Where Should CM Adityanath Contest UP Polls? Know What Voters Want

New Delhi: With months left for the much-crucial Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, it becomes important for people to know from where the incumbent Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will contest the polls.

With Election Commission most likely to announce election dates anytime soon, speculations are high about CM Adityanath's candidature.

Last week, the Chief Minister, while speaking to media, confirmed that he will contest the upcoming Assembly Elections, but from which seat will be decided by the party leadership. 

"I will fight the election from wherever the party," Adityanath had said when asked whether he will contest from Ayodhya, Mathura, or from his home district Gorakhpur.

To gauge the mood of voters in Uttar Pradesh, ABP News along with C-Voter conducted a survey to ask from where the Chief Minister should contest elections. Four options - Ayodhya, Mathura, Both and Not Known - were given to respondents.

Responding to the same, 37 per cent people said that Adityanath should contest UP Polls from Ayodhya. Other 22 per cent respondents said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader should contest from Mathura. 21 per cent people said he should contest from both seats, while 20 per cent said they do not know.

Meanwhile, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Harnath Singh Yadav has requested party leadership to field Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from Mathura in the upcoming polls.

ABP C-Voter Survey On UP Polls

As per latest round of survey conducted by ABP News and C-Voter, the ruling BJP is likely to return to power in the 2022 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, though with a significant reduction in the number of seats that the saffron party is expected to win.

The survey findings also suggest that the electoral contest in Uttar Pradesh is getting bipolar and the fight is mainly between the BJP and Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP).

Other parties such as Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Congress appear to be relegated to margins in the upcoming electoral contest.
