New Delhi: Besieged by various allegations over the NEET fiasco, the Centre assured the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that it will take all necessary measures to protect the best interests of students, as reported by news agency PTI.


Responding to a supplementary question related to the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel said, "Regarding the allegations of paper leaks, the Supreme Court's judgement has already been received. I assure the member through you (the Chair) that the government is committed to the best interests of students and will take all necessary actions."


Replying to another supplementary question, the minister informed the house that the first round of NEET-UG counselling would commence on August 14. "We have announced that the first round of counselling will begin on August 14, and as per the Supreme Court's order, we will conduct the counselling in four rounds," Patel said. She added that the fourth round would conclude on October 24.


The National Testing Agency declared the NEET-UG results on July 26. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) announced the counselling dates through a public notice on July 29.


Registration for eligible candidates will start in the first week of August.


"The allotment of seats under NEET-UG is carried out through a transparent online counselling process. This ensures convenience and accessibility for candidates, allowing them to participate in a hassle-free manner," the government stated.

NEET UG 2024 Counselling To Start From August 14






The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the NEET UG 2024 counselling schedule. Students can view the schedule on the official website at mcc.nic.in. The counselling process is tentatively set to start on August 14, 2024. Registrations for the MCC NEET UG counselling will begin in the first week of August, allowing candidates to secure seats under the 15% All India Quota.
