Noida schools remain closed and continue online classes today, November 25, 2024. This decision was made by the authorities due to the persistent poor air quality. The extension applies to all classes from nursery to Grade 12. This decision follows a significant deterioration in the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi-NCR, which has exceeded the "Severe+" category with readings above 450.
“In view of the instructions given by the District Magistrate, Gautam Buddha Nagar on November 18, regarding the discontinuation of physical classes from pre-school to Grade 12 due to the breach of the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi-NCR to the Severe+ category (450+ AQI), all schools in the District Gautam Buddha Nagar are directed to follow the above order until November 25,” read an order issued by Dharamvir Singh, District Inspector of Schools (DIOS).

Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurugram & Faridabad Schools Closed Today
In Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad, physical classes for students up to Class 12 remain suspended until today, November 25, due to severe pollution levels. Authorities in these regions independently decided to extend the closure as Delhi's AQI remained in the "Very Poor" category.
The reopening of schools in Delhi remains uncertain. Although the school closures have been downgraded from a GRAP IV to a GRAP III measure, offline classes are yet to resume as Delhi's air quality continues to fall in the "very poor" category, with GRAP III restrictions still in place.
For other NCR regions—Faridabad, Gurugram, Noida, and Ghaziabad—further instructions are expected to be issued by this evening.
