WBCS Prelims 2021: The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) is going to conduct the West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) Preliminary Examination on August 22, 2021. The official notification was issued on December 21, 2020, and the application process for the WBCS preliminary examination was over by January 16, 2021. However, now less than 10 days are left for the preliminary exam, the candidate is in the last phase of preparation. And, candidates who have not yet downloaded WBCS Admit Card 2021, can download their hall ticket by visiting the official website wbpsc.gov.in.

However, some students preparing for the WBCS preliminary examination are fully prepared for the exam, while some candidates do not know how they complete their preparation in the last phase. For helping such students, here we are giving some tips for preparing for the last phase which will be very helpful in scoring well in the exam.

Completely focus on revision
The first tip is that it is not possible to start and finish a new book in the remaining time. This is why candidates should focus only on revision. Regularly revise subjects like current affairs and static GK. In addition, candidates can take subjectwise special classes on YouTube which are posted by various coaching centres.

Solve mock tests with 2-6 to 7 full length
Solving mock tests will be very beneficial for candidates in the remaining few days before the exam. Now the question is, how many mock tests should be solved? So, mock tests with at least 6 to 7 full length will be enough for students to analyze questions and their patterns. At the same time, it would be a good suggestion to understand WBCS exam analysis and take some signals from them. Marks secured in these mock tests will help candidates increase their self-confidence and also help in identify the difficult parts. In this way, they can revise those parts according to themselves. For example, after taking a full-length mock test, if the candidate feels that they are unable to answer 50 questions so they can identify and revise these topics specially. Therefore, even if someone misses the syllabus then also they can easily cover their syllabus.

Revise general mental ability and current affairs section daily
The third important tip is that candidates should focus on general mental ability and current affairs.  These two parts should be revised daily. Candidates should also practice mathematical problems and reasoning sections from General Mental Ability daily. Since the date of the WBCS 2021 exam is August 22, 2021, it is recommended that candidates stay updated with current affairs from 2020 to 15 August 2021. If students still did not prepare this section so they should be preparing for it from now on without any delay. Candidates are advised to give 30 to 35 minutes to the Current Affairs section daily.

Revise with notes instead of entire books
One of the most common study strategies adopted by most candidates is that they start revising all books in English, Indian history, Indian national movement, Indian geography, Indian politics, and general science. But we will recommend that candidates should avoid this practice. Because there is no enough time to revise all the books and secondly, students may be confused by doing so. In this regard, one important tip is to solve WBCS previous year's question paper. Also, students should revise the highlighted parts of their personal notes/or books and especially M. Laxmikant. Candidates can study from the WBCS manual or the WBCS achievers guide book.

Give at least 30 minutes daily to prepare for the English section
WBCS's final tip for the 2021 Prelims Preparation is selective. This is especially for students who do not have a good understanding of the subject. For part of the English composition, they can revision from SP Bakshi's Objective General English. Candidates should give at least 30 minutes daily to prepare for the English section. In addition, they can go through the question papers of the last 20 years and focus exclusively on corrections, grammar, and vocabulary. With so much effort, they can easily score a minimum of 10 to 15 marks. At this time, candidates should remember that they do not have to experiment with anything new. If they are ready for their best efforts, their WBCS 2021 result will definitely be the best.
