School reopens in Uttarakhand: Schools for classes 9 to 12 have been re-opened in Uttarakhand from August 2, 2021, onwards. The decision to re-open a school has been challenged in the Uttarakhand high court. The petitioner has filed a petition in the Uttarakhand high court in this regard. The high court on Monday asked the petitioner to amend his petition. The petition will now come up for hearing on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.

A bench of Chief Justice R S Chauhan and Justice Alok Kumar found that the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) issued by the state government for re-opening schools has not been challenged properly in the petition. The court further said the petition was filed on July 29, 2021, while the state government issued an SOP on July 31, 2021, regarding the re-opening of schools.
