Uttar Pradesh: In view of surge in number of Coronavirus cases in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced to cancel the Class-10 Board exams 2021. UP board class 12 exams is proposed in second week of July if situation is under control.


In what may come as a relief for nearly 30 lakh students, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has decided to promote the Class 10th students of the state without any exams. According to media reports, it will be the first time that the UP Board 10th result will be declared with a 100% pass percentage. In this regard, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has been asked to make guidelines.

As far as Class 12 board exams are concered, the UP Education Minister Dinesh Sharma after a discussion with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday, announced that it has been decided to conduct the class 12th examination in view of the future of the children.


The examination has been proposed in the second week of July taking all kinds of precautions and safety. Duration for class 12 exams reduced to 1.5 hours from earlier 3.15 hours. Only three questions to be asked.


Earlier, class 10 and 12 examinations were scheduled to be conducted from May 8. Students of both class 10th & 12th were campaigning to cancel the examinations since the second wave of Covid-19 hit. Students have said that conducting exams during such a crisis would be dangerous as could turn into a 'super spreader' event.
