The state government further declared that every student will be passed.

Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy revealed that about 1.47 lakh students, who had to appear for the exams, are considered passed and they can collect their mark sheets from their respective colleges by July 31.

"The Chief Minister (K Chandrashekhar Rao) took a decision to pass all the students who have failed in the second year exams. These students will be issued a pass certificate under 'compartmental pass' and by July 31, the students will be issued mark memos at their respective colleges," Ms. Reddy said.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao reached this decision by taking cognisance of the Coronavirus situation in the state, to not cause further inconvenience to students, Ms. Reddy added.

Intermediate second-year regular exams were conducted in March before the nationwide lockdown was announced and then, results were declared by the Board of Intermediate Education.

The state government last month had announced that all the Class 10 (secondary school certificate or SSC) students will be promoted without any examination, as holding physical exams remain unfeasible due to the spread of coronavirus in the state.
