TNEA 2019: The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu has commenced the online application process for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2019 today, i.e. on 2nd May 2019 on its official website – tneaonline.in. The last date to register and submit online applications is 31st May 2019.

Candidates seeking admissions to first year of B. E. / B. Tech degree courses at Government/Government Aided Engineering Colleges/University Departments and Constituent Colleges of Anna University/Annamalai University/ Self–Financing Engineering Colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu must register for TNEA 2019.

Candidates can choose to pursue B. E. / B. Tech. – four academic years programme comprising of 8 semesters, or they can opt for B. E. (Sandwich) course which is a five academic years programme comprising of 10 semesters.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Academic courses

Candidate should have passed class 11th and 12th or its equivalent with minimum average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry taken together. For General Category candidates, the minimum average marks should be 45% and for others there is a 5% relaxation in the minimum average percentage.

For Vocational courses

Candidate should have passed class 11th and 12th with any one of the vocational subject and any one of the engineering related subjects from Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with minimum average percentage. The minimum average percentage for different categories is the same as for academic courses.

Tamil Nadu candidates

Tamil Nadu candidates should have passed 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th class from schools situated in Tamil. They are not required to produce Nativity Certificate for verification.

Tamil Nadu native candidates

Native candidates of Tamil Nadu who have passed any of the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th class or their equivalent examination from schools located outside Tamil Nadu are also eligible to apply. They need to present the Original Nativity Certificate only in electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate at the time of verification of original certificates at TFC.

How to apply for TNEA 2019?

Step 1 – Visit the official website – tneaonline.in

Step 2 – Register yourself by clicking on the tab, ‘click here for new registration’ and get the login id and password

Step 3 – Login using the email id and password

Step 4 – Fill the personal information like name, gender, date of birth, etc.

Step 5 – Fill the Special Reservation information like reservation category and other details (only required if you belong to a reserved category)

Step 6 – Complete the application form and pay the application fee

Step 7 – Submit the application form

Step 8 – Download and take a printout of the application form for future reference

Selection Process:

No entrance exam will be conducted for TNEA 2019. Candidates will be given admission to B.E/B.Tech courses on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in the prescribed subjects reduced to 200 (Mathematics: 100, Physics + Chemistry: 100) in the qualifying examination. The normalisation of marks and Inter-se Merit process will be carried out to arrive at a common merit list.
