In a fresh shooting incident in the United States, a student from the South Indian state of Telangana, K Sai Charan has been shot during a reported robbery attempt in Chicago. The incident took place on Sunday and the victim’s parents were informed about the incident by his friends.
The victim has been admitted to a hostel and is said to be out of danger now. The student moved to the US on January 11 to pursue MS in Chicago. “He went to the US on January 11 to pursue MS in Chicago, we got information about this incident...We are in shock,” Srinivas Rao, the student’s father was reported saying to TV channels by PTI.
Notably, there have been several other incidents of shooting in the United States’ in recent times which have sparked heated debates over the US gun culture on the internet. On Tuesday, January 24, multiple shooting incidents were reported from the city of Half Moon Bay, killing at least 11 people.

Later after the incident, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office was reported saying by local media that ‘suspect of the incident reported near Highway 92 is in custody and there is no ongoing threat to the community at this time.’
In yet another shooting incident which took place earlier on Monday, two students and an employee of the Des Moines School were killed in a target-shooting, as reported by AP. The Des Moines school is dedicated to helping at-risk youth, and the shooting took place in an educational programme called Starts Right Here, affiliated to the Des Moines school district.
“We are saddened to learn of another act of gun violence, especially one that impacts an organization that works closely with some of our students. We are still waiting to learn more details, but our thoughts are with any victims of this incident and their families and friends, ” the Des Moines school district said in a statement.
