New Delhi: From tomorrow, February 14, schools in various states, including Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh, will restart offline lessons after a long period of shutdown.

With the number of Covid cases decreasing, some states have already begun offering physical education lessons in schools and universities as early as February.

Several safety procedures, including the usage of face masks and sanitisers, are in place to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and non-teaching personnel visiting schools and universities.

On February 2, the Central Government also published revised rules for school reopening and urged states and Union Territories (UTs) to decide whether schools require parental agreement to let pupils in classes.

From February 14, below is a list of states and cities that are reopening schools, colleges, and universities:

Delhi: Despite the fact that schools and colleges in Delhi began reopening on February 7, classes between Nursery and Class 8 will return on February 14.

In a meeting of the Delhi Development and Management Authority (DDMA) on January 27, the Delhi government recommended that schools be reopened. Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister, had also called for the reopening of schools and institutions, opining that if schools are not reopened soon, a generation of students would be left behind.

Uttar Pradesh: Schools for Nursery pupils, Lessons 1 to 12, colleges, and all other educational institutions in the state have been permitted to reopen for offline classes as of tomorrow, according to the state administration.

Jammu & Kashmir: The state has decided to reopen schools, colleges, universities, technical education institutes, skill development institutes, and coaching centres in a phased manner beginning Monday.

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh administration has stated that all schools and coaching institutes would reopen tomorrow with full capacity in a hybrid format.

According to an official statement, "schools and coaching institutes will be authorised to begin operating at full capacity in hybrid (offline/online mode) for all classes beginning 14.02.2022."

Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has said that schools for Classes 1 to 5 would resume on February 14. Offline teaching for Classes 6–12, as well as at colleges and institutions, had already begun.

Meanwhile, students in Karnataka's Studies 9 and 10, which were closed due to a uniform dispute, have been permitted to continue classes in an offline fashion beginning tomorrow.
