Himachal Pradesh: Schools And Colleges In Mandi To Remain Closed Tomorrow Amid Heavy Rainfall

All schools and colleges in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh will be closed tomorrow due to ongoing rainfall.

In the wake of the ongoing rainfall in several parts of Himachal Pradesh, the Mandi district administration has directed all schools and colleges to remain closed tomorrow, amid the heavy rainfall. Arindam Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner Mandi, has directed all schools and colleges in Mandi to be closed tomorrow. Notably, owing to the sweeping rainfall across several parts of the country has disrupted everyday lives of the people. Earlier last week, administrations and education departments of several districts in states like Kerala, Karnataka, and Goa ordered closure of schools in several parts of the states owing to heavy rainfall. 

Notably, the weather department has released a red alert for severe rainfall across various parts of Himachal Pradesh. The northern state has been receiving severe rainfall in the past few days forcing the river Beas to flow furiously. What initially started from the southern states of the country, severe rainfall has now spread across several parts of the country. Heavy rainfall has now also engulfed the national capital region now including Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and surrounding areas. Following the heavy downpour, multiple incidents of waterlogging across streets and highways, halting of everyday traffic commute and trapping of people at various places have been reported from different parts of Delhi-NCR. 

"Yesterday's intensity of rain will continue in the mountains. The intensity will lower in the plains, still, there are predictions of rainfall. Delhi-NCR is likely to receive heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours, however for the next four to five days it will rain but the intensity will remain low. Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours," Charan Singh, Head Regional Meteorological Centre, Delhi, was reported saying to news agency ANI today, in the light of rainfall across the national capital region.
