Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend an event commemorating the 125th foundation day of the Scindia School in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday. Established in 1897 by the Gwalior royalty, the Scindia School is perched atop the historic Gwalior fort. During the event, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for a multipurpose sports complex at the school, as reported by PTI. He will also present annual awards to distinguished alumni and high-achievers. In addition, the Prime Minister will address the gathering on this significant occasion.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, a scion of the erstwhile royalty, is a prominent political figure in Madhya Pradesh, a state gearing up for assembly polls on November 17.
PM Modi will land at the Gwalior airport around 4.30 pm and will be flown to the school in a chopper. He will be escorted by a cavalry to the main campus and welcomed with a band performance, school authorities said.
After meeting the school's board of directors, prefects and other key figures, the prime minister will visit an exhibition comprising six panels, each showcasing different aspects of the school, they said.
During his visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to carry out several activities, including, inaugurating a 3D model of a state-of-the-art multipurpose sports complex, unveiling the foundation stone of the school and participating in the planting of an indigenous tree variety known as Pilkhan.
Following these events, PM Modi will address a substantial gathering of more than 5,000 individuals, which includes parents of students, alumni, and distinguished guests. After the event, he is expected to depart for Delhi around 6.30 pm.
Prominent figures in attendance at the event will include Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai C Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Jitendra Singh, and others.
