Odisha 10th Exam 2021: In Odisha, 15,151 students have filled the application form to appear for the 10th class examination this year by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE). This exam will be offline. In this regard, the BSE issued a press release on Thursday and said that the offline examination will start from 30th July and the answer sheets will be evaluated from 6th August onwards.

Students Had Made Serious Allegations On the BSE Earlier

The state government had canceled this year's matriculation examination in view of the pandemic and the BSE had announced last month that around 98% of students who filled the form had passed the exam. They had been graded using an alternative method. This included the evaluation as well as their past performance in school. However, many students across the state, especially from private schools, alleged that they were given marks that were below their standards and expectations.

Questioning the controversial method of evaluation, the role of the BSE was criticized by several students and there were statewide protests. It is alleged that the BSE tampered with the marks that were submitted by the teachers of their respective schools.

An examination is being conducted for the disgruntled students

After the criticism, the BSE has announced that it will conduct offline examinations for discontent students. Here, students will have to appear at the examination centers. Interestingly, only four weeks have been given to prepare for the exam. The board has also decided that the marks obtained by the students in the offline examination will be final.
