The University Grants Commission (UGC) has made an announcement regarding the minimum qualifications for the appointment of teachers and academic staff in universities and colleges. According to the revised regulations, the National Eligibility Test (NET), State Eligibility Test (SET), and State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) will serve as the minimum criteria for direct recruitment to the post of assistant professor.
The new regulations have come into effect from July 1, 2023. This means that individuals aspiring to be appointed as assistant professors in universities and colleges will need to qualify for the NET, SET, or SLET examinations as per the guidelines set by the UGC.
