NEET-UG Counselling: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday announced that Counselling for NEET-UG is set to begin from January 19. The schedule for the same has been released by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).


According to the schedule, the NEET UG Counselling 2021 will happen in four rounds - All India Quota (AIQ) round 1, AIQ round 2, AIQ mop-up round, and AIQ stray vacancy round. For the first round, the final result will be declared on January 29.

NEET UG Counselling Schedule


The verification of seat matrix will be done from January 17 to 18. The registration and payment will begin on January 19. The registeration will continue till January 24, 12:00 noon while the payment option will remain available for three more hours, till 3:00 pm noon on January 24.


The choice filling will be commenced from January 20 and conclude on January 24 at 11:55 pm. Choice locking will take place from 4:00 pm to 11:55 pm on January 24.


The verification of internal candidates by universities/institutes will take place from January 25 to January 26. The processing of seat allotment will happen from January 27 to 28. The final result will be declared on January 29.






Earlier, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had taken to Twitter to inform about the commencement of NEET-UG Counselling 2021.


"Dear students, counselling for NEET-UG is being started by MCC from January 19. You are the future of the country and hopefully, all of you will give a new direction to your career with the mantra of seva dharma. I extend my best wishes to all," he wrote.



Instructions For Online Stray Vacancy Round


Fresh registrations will only be done in AIQ round 1, AIQ round 2, AIQ mop-up round only. Here are some important points pertaining to Online Stray Vacancy Round:



  • No New Registration/ Payment option for Online Stray Vacancy Round.

  • No Fresh Choice Filling will be conducted for Online Stray Vacancy Round

  • The Choices exercised by candidates in Mop Up Round will be considered for allotment of seats for Stray Vacancy Round.

  • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can only participate in Online Stray Vacancy.


Notably, the NEET UG admissions will be done for 15 per cent of All India Quota (AIQ) seats this year, after factoring in the new Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Other Backward Class (OBC) reservation criteria.
