NEET UG 2024: The counselling for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 has been postponed until further notice. Earlier, the NEET UG all-India quota (AIQ) seat counselling was set to begin on July 6, 2024. However, this update follows the Supreme Court's decision not to delay the NEET UG counselling scheduled for today.

NEET UG counselling is conducted in several stages, including additional rounds for leftover seats and final rounds. Students who pass the medical entrance exam need to register first, pay fees for the counselling, choose their preferences and finalise them, upload required documents, and physically go to their assigned institute.

The Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, will consider several NEET UG 2024 petitions on July 8, 2024.

An official notification detailing the NEET UG counselling schedule is expected to be released shortly on the official website at mcc.nic.in. Students and parents are advised to stay updated with official announcements regarding the rescheduling of NEET UG 2024 counselling dates.

The NEET UG exam faced issues such as suspected leaks and unclear grading methods, sparking protests across the country. As a result, some students had to retake the exam, and the NEET PG exam was postponed. To address concerns about possibly inflated scores from extra marks, authorities decided to conduct a retest on June 23, 2024, for 1,563 students affected by these issues.

Out of the students affected by this issue, 813 decided to take the retest. On the other hand, a large group, 48% of those affected, decided to keep their original scores and not include the extra marks.
