New Delhi: India Youth Front, an umbrella group representing the youth wings of INDIA bloc parties, announced on Wednesday that they will hold a protest at Jantar Mantar on July 8 against the reported incidents of paper leaks in the NEET exam.
Addressing a press conference, Indian Youth Congress president Srinivas BV stated that the India Youth Front will protest against the paper leaks in the medical entrance exam. The future course of action will be decided on July 8, he added.
On Wednesday, Members of the Left-backed All India Students Association (AISA), Student Federation of India (SFI), All India Students' Federation (AISF), along with the Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha and the Congress' student wing NSUI, gathered at Jantar Mantar to organise a march.
The student groups planned to march to Parliament to demand the scrapping of the National Testing Agency, the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and the decentralization of entrance tests. However, heavy police deployment and barricades at the site prevented them from proceeding with the march.
Additionally, they called for a re-examination of the NEET-UG for all candidates who took the exam on May 5.
Meanwhile, the police registered an FIR under new criminal laws against some students staging an indefinite sit-in at Jantar Mantar, protesting against alleged rigging in NTA-conducted exams.

Over a dozen students from different outfits, including Left-backed AISA and Delhi University's KYS under the banner "India against NTA," were detained on Tuesday while attempting to march to Parliament to press their demands. The police have now filed a case against these students under new criminal laws.
NEET-UG, conducted by the NTA on May 5, saw around 24 lakh candidates appear for the exam. The results were announced on June 4, but were followed by allegations of question paper leaks in states such as Bihar, along with other irregularities.
