As per the NEET-UG 2021 reservation norms, the Central Government has recently decided to provide 27% reservation to OBCs under the All India Quota Scheme and 10% reservation to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The decision to reserve seats for NEET 2021 will benefit about 1,500 OBC and 550 EWS candidates. Earlier, the NEET-UG reservations for OBC and EWS were provided to central universities.
Now reservations will be provided to medical and dental colleges in the state under the All India Scheme. In addition to EWS and OBCs, 15% of seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST).
