The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is expected to announce the revised exam date for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 today, July 2. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan last week said that the announcement would be made on Monday or Tuesday. Students are advised to check the official website, natboard.edu.in for updates. The new date will be released on the official website.


Originally scheduled for June 23, the NEET PG exam was postponed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) as a precautionary measure due to concerns about the integrity of competitive examinations in the country. The ministry stated that a review of the processes used to conduct the NEET PG entrance examination would be undertaken.


Earlier, National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences President Abhijat Sheth said that the SOPs and protocols will be reviewed promptly.


"The integrity of this examination was never in doubt as far as NEET PG is concerned. For the last seven years, we have conducted so far successfully. Because of the recent events, what has happened that there were lots of concerns about all these sorts of examinations from the student communities and in response to that, the government has decided to ensure once more to make sure that the sanctity of the examination the safety and security must be maintained. So they have decided to review the SOPs and protocols as soon as possible," said Abhijat Sheth while speaking to ANI.

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) oversees the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024. This exam facilitates admissions to around 26,168 Doctor of Medicine (MD) seats, 13,649 Master of Surgery (MS) seats, and 922 PG Diploma seats across 6,102 institutions, including government, private, deemed, and central universities.
