NEET-MDS 2022 Exam: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday extended the date of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) MDS 2022 by 4 to 6 weeks. 


While making the announcement, the ministry also said that the date of completion of a compulsory rotating internship for eligibility for admission to MDS courses has been fixed at July 31 instead of March 31 this year.






Scores of medical aspirants took to social media and stated that most of the interns would be ineligible to sit for the exams, as it requires aspirants to have completed their internships only by March 31, 2022.


"In continuation of the NBEMS notice dated 04.02.2022 and pursuant to the directions of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Govt. of India vide its letter no. F. No. U11011/06/2021-MEC dated 15.02.2022, the cut-off date for completion of an internship for the purpose of eligibility for NEET-PG 2022 has been extended to 31.07.2022," the notification by Health Ministry read.


The ministry also stated that the NEET-MDS 2022 exam could also be held around the same date as that for NEET-PG 2022.


The announcement comes after the United Doctors Front Association requested the government for the extension of exam NEET-MDS 2022 date by 4-6 weeks and also sought to extend the date of completion of a compulsory rotating internship for eligibility for admission to MDS courses government. 


Students are claiming that they were unable to start their internships in time due to the Covid-19 pandemic and hence, require time to complete their internship to be able to sit for the NEET MDS exam. 


The Health Ministry has also extended the exam dates of NEET PG 2022 after receiving demands from students.
