Kota: A 22-year-old NEET aspirant, hailing from Bengaluru, Karnataka, died by falling from the 10th floor of a multi-storey building in the Vigyan Nagar area of Kota, Rajasthan. The incident occurred on Monday night, and the police suspect it to be a case of suicide. Mohammed Nasir, died on the spot late on Monday night, police said.
Nasir had recently appeared for NEET-UG 2023 at a center in Jaipur, Rajasthan on Sunday and had returned to Kota the next day. He had been preparing for the exam at a coaching institute in Kota for the past year, as reported by PTI.
Nasir died around 11 pm on Monday, circle inspector at Vigyan Nagar police station Devesh Bhardwaj said.
Nasir was living with some friends in the same multi-storey building where he fell from. At the time of the incident, his flatmates were not present in the flat, he said.
The body has been kept at the MBS hospital mortuary and a post-mortem will be conducted after Nasir's parents arrive from Bengaluru, Bhardwaj said.
NEET Aspirant Dies After Being Hit By Truck
A tragic incident has been reported from the Sarsawa area where an 18-year-old NEET aspirant lost his life in a road accident. Ruchit Kamboj, who resided in Mohalla Durga Colony, was on his way to the Deoband exam center with a friend when the accident occurred. The two-wheeler they were travelling on was hit by a truck, as reported by PTI.
While Kamboj suffered severe head injuries and was declared brought dead by doctors, his friend survived with minor injuries. The driver of the truck fled the scene, and the body has been sent for postmortem.
Notably, the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) was conducted on Sunday. NEET UG 2023 medical entrance exam was held in 499 cities in India and 7 cities outside India. However, the exam has been postponed in Manipur due to the prevailing law and order situation in the state.
