The National Board of Examination (NBE) had organized National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admissions to Post Graduate (PG) courses on Sunday, 6th January 2019, earlier this year. The result of the same was declared on 31st January 2019, while Score Cards were released on 6th February 2019.
The NBE had also announced the cut off marks for NEET PG 2019 admissions, as per which, the minimum cut off marks for General category candidates was originally set at 340, 317 for General (PH) and 295 for SC/ST/OBC category candidates. In terms of percentile General category candidates needed minimum 50th percentile, General (PH) 45th percentile while SC/ST/OBC category candidates needed 40th percentile to be eligible for NEET PG Admissions 2019.
With the latest decision taken by the government, the cut-off for the year 2019-20 comes down to 44th percentile for General category candidates, 39th percentile for Persons with Disabilities category, and 34th percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Announcing the update on NEET PG 2019 Cut-Off, the Health Ministry had tweeted, “Govt. in consultation with the MCI has decided to reduce the qualifying percentile of NEET -PG for the year 2019-20 by 6 percentile, taking them to 44 percentile for general category, 39 percentile for persons with Disability, & 34 percentile for SC/ST/OBC category candidates.”

The online counselling is already underway for NEET PG 2019 admissions. The Ministry has directed all states and union territories of India to consider the revision in cut-off marks while conducting further rounds of counselling for seat allotment. “All States/UTs are requested to make necessary arrangements for allowing students as per revised qualifying marks in any further rounds of counselling this year. National Board of Examination (NBE) may be contacted for revised merit list. #NEET2019 @PMOIndia @PIB_India” added the Ministry of Health.
