Maharashtra CET: Maharashtra government has decided to conduct a Common Entrance Test (CET) for class 10 students seeking admission to Maharashtra First Year Junior College (FYJC). The optional examination for admission to FYCJ will be conducted in July-end or the first week of August 2021, Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said.

"Considering the internal evaluation done by various examination boards at school level for the 10th result, there should be uniformity for the 11th admission and the optional common entrance examination (CET) will be held at the end of July or the first week of August," Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad tweeted.

The preference in the FYCJ admission will be given to the students who have appeared in the CET based on their performance. The leftover seats will be allotted to the students based on their class 10 marks. Information like exam date, centre, and various other details will be released on the official website of the Maharashtra Board in due course of time. An ample amount of time will be provided to the students to prepare for the CET exams. The board has constituted a six-member committee to finalize the modalities of the Maharashtra CET exams.

Earlier, in the light of the covid-19 pandemic, the Maharashtra board had canceled the Maharashtra SSC board exams 2021. The Maharashtra Class 10 board results 2021 will be announced by July 15, 2021.
