Kerala School Reopening: The Supreme Court of India on Friday puts interim stay on the Kerala government's decision to conduct the Class 11th exam in a physical mode. The decision has been taken in view of the rising number of covid-19 cases across the state. The Kerala Class 11th exams were scheduled to begin from September 6, 2021, onwards.

The apex court further said that the situation in Kerala is alarming because of the continuing rise in coronavirus cases and students can't be exposed to risk as nearly 35,000 cases are being reported daily from the state.

The next hearing regarding the issue is scheduled to be held on September 13, 2021.

Recently, Kerala Education Minister V. Sivankutty announced that the state government has decided to increase the seats for class 11 in government and aided higher secondary schools. The seats will be increased in the seven districts spread across the state.

The minister after releasing the revised schedule for the class 11 exams had said that the decision to conduct the Class 11 exams with intervals between exams was made on the demand by students, teachers, parents, MLAs etc.
